Dr. Jarrett Johnson OD, MPH
Dr. Johnson has been practicing and serving the community for more than 30 years. She has served on numerous community boards and is currently serving on the Board of Directors of VSP.
She graduated from both Xavier and Loyola Universities with a B.S. Chemistry. She also graduated from Tulane University School of Public Health. Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Optometric Association, National Optometric Association, American Public Health Association and the Optometric Association of Louisiana. The American Diabetics Association. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Ponchartrian Chapter of the Links, Inc. |

Kasey Ann, COA-Office Mgr
Kasey is a Certified Ophthalmic assistant certified by JCHAPO. She received her Bachelors Degree from William Carey University , as well as an Associates degree from Delgado Community College. Kasey completed her Ophthalmic training at Ochsner and Tulane hospital Ophthalmology clinic. She has worked in private practice with Dr. Johnson since 2008.
Kasey enjoys assisting patients of all ages, especially kids and the elderly. She is devoted to all things Primary Eye Care. In her off time she enjoys going to the gym, playing sports, spending time with her family & friends, traveling, and cooking. WHO DAT!!! |
Keaira Preston, Technician
Keaira is a graduate of Dillard University who majored in Sociology. She also attended Delgado Community College where she completed the Ophthalmic Medical Assistant Program. Keaira works as an Ophthalmic Technician. She plans on continuing her education in the field of Optometry.
In her spare time Keaira enjoys reading and learning new things. |
Carl Franklin, Lab manager
Carl has worked in the optical industry for over 25 years, he is a resident of St. Rose, La and a graduate of Lawless Sr. high school. In Carl's most recent years in the industry , he has worked as an assistant lab manager at Gulf States optical lab. At Primary Eye Care ,Carl manages all lab duties, operations, and production of the lab. Carl is an avid golfer around the city of New Orleans.
When Carl has free time he is either golfing or spending time with is lovely wife, kids, and grand kids. |
Victoria Berger, Office Assistant
After 35 years in New York City, Victoria made the decision in 2015 to return to the city of New Orleans where she grew up. She became a member of PEC in 2016. Vicki's job functions include scheduling appointments and updating patient records. Victoria feels that its important in keeping ones mind sharp and working with a great group of friends is the key to a great work environment.
She enjoys the opportunity of learning new skills everyday and help solve problems when necessary. |
Janitra Turner, Front Desk
Janitra is a graduate of Carroll High school and Louisiana Delta Community College in Monroe, La. She is a wife and a mother who enjoys spending time with family and trying new things.
Some of her favorite hobbies are couponing,and shopping. Janitra works as the front desk attendant assisting all patients needs. |
Kimberly Pepp, Office Assistant

Kimberly has been in the eye care industry for 15 plus years. She began her optical career at Walmart in New Orleans with Dr. Johnson several years ago. Kim is a devoted worker and is very passionate about everything her hand touches. Kim specializes in all things optical. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, exercising, and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys.

Michalle Saint Jean, Technician

Michalle graduated from Delgado community College with an Associates degree in the technical field of Ophthalmic Medical assisting. She also received an Associates degree in General Studies. Michalle did most of her ophthalmic training at University Medical Center and Tulane Ophthalmology clinic in New Orleans. She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and success Sigma Alpha Pi.
Currently, Michllale is enrolled in the University of New Orleans in pursuit of becoming a professional interpreter and translator .
Working at Primary Eye Care has been a blessing and she cherishes every bit of it.
In her spare time she enjoys working out at her cozy homemade gym with her siblings, drawing sketches, painting and spending time with her loved ones. She also enjoys going to concerts.
Currently, Michllale is enrolled in the University of New Orleans in pursuit of becoming a professional interpreter and translator .

Chardonnay Veal, Optician

Chardonnay has been in the Optometry field for 14 years as an optician. As a native of New Orleans, Chardonnay has found her passion and immeasurable pleasure in her professional career as an optician. She enjoys meeting the needs of every patient big or small. The patient experience of selecting eyewear is like fashion for Chardonnay. She achieves her goal in making each patient feel themselves and being expressive with their choices. Chardonnay is a mother of 2 and enjoys pampering herself in her spare time.
